Tract's 430-acre data center rejected by local officials in Hanover County, Virginia

Hanover County's Board of Supervisors voted on May 27 to reject developer Tract's proposed 430-acre Mountain Road Technology Park, denying the conditional-use permit by a single vote. The project would have provided up to 900MW of capacity across multiple phases. It drew significant community opposition over water consumption, electricity usage, loss of agricultural land and environmental impact.
