About W.D. Peak and Red Blinders
About the book
Red Blinders is a near-future political techno-thriller by W.D. Peak. Kenneth Warzel, an ineffectual Philadelphia professional, quits his job and tries on a pair of horse blinders as a way to hide from the world. His niece films hims; the video leaks; his face becomes the symbol of a neo-Luddite domestic terror movement called The Blinders. As Warzel, the accidental revolutionary, struggles to navigate his fraught fame, he finds himself at the heart of a grand conspiracy: on one side a corrupt government in bed with industry, on the other an army of blinder-clad anarchists and their fleet of explosive-equipped drones.
Red Blinders is a 65,000-word novel in the lane of Daniel Suarez's Daemon and Blake Crouch's Recursion, with the corporate-dystopia register of Dave Eggers's The Circle and the philosophical-AI tradition of Klara and the Sun. More about the book →
