Florida sues OpenAI and Sam Altman over alleged safety lapses
Florida became the first U.S. state to sue OpenAI and CEO Sam Altman, accusing the company of marketing ChatGPT as safe while ignoring dangers to users including children. The suit brings ten counts including deceptive trade practices, negligence, product liability and creating a 'dangerous public nuisance,' and seeks to hold Altman personally liable.
