Attempted fire-bombing has tech titans worried about AI backlash
In April 2026, Daniel Moreno-Gama, 20, threw a Molotov cocktail at OpenAI CEO Sam Altman's San Francisco home and then went to OpenAI's headquarters threatening to 'burn it down and kill anyone inside' while carrying an anti-AI manifesto. Federal prosecutors are evaluating domestic terrorism charges; the FBI called the attack 'planned, targeted, and extremely serious.'
